Good Shepherd Center
Basic Information
The Good Shepherd Center, located at 218 Iron Avenue SW in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been serving the homeless and less fortunate since 1951.
Operated by the Brothers of St. John of God, the center offers a range of services to support individuals in need:
- Overnight Shelter for Men: Providing a safe place to sleep, with check-in at 6 p.m. and check-out at 7 a.m.
- Medical Respite Beds: Assisting men recovering from illness or injury, in collaboration with Health Care for the Homeless and the University of New Mexico Hospital.
- Daily Meals: Serving meals to men, women, and children on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2 p.m., and on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m.
- Substance Abuse Recovery Program: A comprehensive in-house program of at least six months duration, offering counseling and support.
- Clothing Distribution: Providing men's clothing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Mail Service: Allowing homeless or transient individuals to receive mail, with pickup available Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
